Terms & Guaranty

Terms: Our birds that are available for purchase are listed on the babies page click on the photo for a larger photo with birth date. Once you have selected one of our babies that you would like to purchase, please contact us at 434-664-8693 or at bruceb23@aparrot.com once we receive your request, we will contact you to make payment as well as pick-up or shipping arrangements. We are located in north east PA and will ship out of the Lehigh Valley International Airport.

Payment Option: Payment may be made by bank wire transfer, cashier’s check, or money order.

Deposits: Most of our birds are sold or reserved while they are being hand fed. Reservations are made by making a deposit. A deposit is non-refundable and is applied toward the total purchase price.

Guarantee: This Company warrants that, at time of purchase, the bird(s) invoiced are in good health. The BUYER is encouraged to have bird(s) examined by a veterinarian of his/her choice within 5 days of purchase. If during this 5 day period, the bird(s) are found to have a condition that affects their health or well-being as determined by the examining veterinarian, this company agrees at its discretion, to either refund to the BUYER the purchase price or to replace said bird(s) with bird(s) of the same species, sex (if known) and age or bird(s) of equal value if so agreed by BUYER.

Shipping Policies: We ship only weaned babies. A weaned bird is one that can fill their own crop for a minimum of two weeks and maintain a reasonable weight, prior to joining there new family. We ship by major airlines on a live animal priority basis. The birds are transported in special facilities with the same pressure and temperature as the passenger cabin. We ship year-round, limited by weather conditions (temperatures either to hot or to cold as the birds may spend extended time outside during loading and unloading) or requirements specific to the airline or the receiving airport.

Airfreight charges vary from one airline to another but generally are around $110 -$150 nationwide. The distance is not the deciding factor. It is based on the dimensional weight of the shipping crate and declared value of the birds. We ship counter to counter. We always notify the buyer with the flight number, air bill number and arrival time before shipment is made.

Health Certificates: Health certificates may be required for certain states and/or airlines. aparrot.com will provide these certificates for an additional charge. Carriers are typically kennel carriers reinforced to prevent escape. These are yours to keep for future use. Carriers cost approximately $30 to $70 depending on individual requirements.

Veterinary Tests: Your baby bird can be examined by an avian veterinarian and have testing done, prior to shipping. The exam is an additional cost, and includes an office visit, CBC blood panel, and Chlamydia and beak and feather tests, a months’ prior notice is required, so results are available prior to the date of shipping.

DNA test for Sex: This test will be performed for an additional charge. A months’ prior notice is required, so results are available prior to the date of shipping.
